SaveSpace is a software for managing ed2k links. They strictly identify a file shared in Peer-to-Peer networks, that are used from programs like eMule. With SaveSpace it is possible to create personal libraries, to organize and sort out files by category. SaveSpace is so called due to the opportunity of save space on hard disk above all in cases where resources are limited; indeed after having downloaded one or more files, it is sufficent to copy the ed2k link from the client (e.g. eMule) and paste it in a "virtual" library. In this way it is possible to watch a film segment and, instead of leaving it on the hard disk, you can delete it and then download again when you want. SaveSpace is also useful to collect and store links taken from online sites and it is a good tool to make file backup (in case of data loss, you can re-download). Some people can think that this method could discourage file sharing, but I think it is not like that: myself delete some files when I need to free up disk space. This is my philosophy, you can download for free the program I made from here. The guide can be found here. For any comments or advices please contact me.

SaveSpace – The ed2k manager
Guide to SaveSpace
SaveSpace has an intuitive and user friendly interface. Main menu offers all the operations while the toolbar and context menu allow to use the common functions. It is possible to create one or more libraries like the real ones; each library is composed by one or more categories and each category contains a set of ed2k links. After library creation, it is sufficent to copy and paste one or more ed2k links from eMule or forum sites that store them. Each link can be renamed, copied, pasted or transfered in another category or can be simply deleted. Categories can be created, renamed and deleted. Generally links can be trasfered using copy and paste, but it is also possible to export them on file or import them from file. At this point we can distinguish two file extensions: For any comments or advices, please contact me. Got to the download page.

GPS with speed camera service and POI - let's make it clear
The purchase of a GPS is sometimes dictated by the need to find the right way to an unknown destination, by the convenience of having along the path an estimation of distance and time of arrival and/or to detect in advance so hated speed cameras... This reasoning can arouse the interest of people who do not have a good relationship with technology and then looking for navigators that "detect the speed cameras". It must be noted that purchasing a GPS navigator the most important thing, besides the features are the maps: they must be fairly up to date, otherwise past one or two years, the navigator will have outdated information leading to potentially wrong information. The update service is under a payment of a fee (about 40 euros per year) it can be done using a PC connected to the Internet. Many navigators offer so-called "speed camera service" which signals a few hundred meters ahead the presence of fixed speed cameras on the route. As for maps, updates are paid. There are POIs or Points Of Interest grouped into categories such as cinemas, hospitals, distributors of fuel, bars, discos, museums and so on. You can choose a POI as a destination address, in which case the comfort of a POI is similar to Yellow Pages, where research is by type of service requested. Alternatively, you can set your navigator to signal the proximity of a PDI along the way and this is the use for categories like mobile and fixed speed cameras, or tutor systems etc.; such POI, in opposition to "speed camera service" is available for free from the Intenet (www.poigps.com). If you have further questions or wish to add another POI link, please contact me.
