SaveSpace – The ed2k manager

SaveSpace is a software for managing ed2k links. They strictly identify a file shared in Peer-to-Peer networks, that are used from programs like eMule.

With SaveSpace it is possible to create personal libraries, to organize and sort out files by category.

SaveSpace is so called due to the opportunity of save space on hard disk above all in cases where resources are limited; indeed after having downloaded one or more files, it is sufficent to copy the ed2k link from the client (e.g. eMule) and paste it in a "virtual" library.

In this way it is possible to watch a film segment and, instead of leaving it on the hard disk, you can delete it and then download again when you want.

SaveSpace is also useful to collect and store links taken from online sites and it is a good tool to make file backup (in case of data loss, you can re-download).

Some people can think that this method could discourage file sharing, but I think it is not like that: myself delete some files when I need to free up disk space.

This is my philosophy, you can download for free the program I made from here. The guide can be found here.
